A New Brain is an energetic, sardonic, often comical musical about a composer in the midst of a medical emergency. Gordon Schwinn writes for a children's television program - Mr. Bungee's Lily Pad- a job that gives him no artistic satisfaction, when he suddenly collapses and awakes in the NYU hospital, surrounded by his maritime-enthusiast lover, his mother, a co-worker, the doctor, and the nurses. Taking a surreal, circuitous path through unlikely subjects like sailing, genetics, homelessness, and children's television; A New Brain is a conversation about life, death, and the power of time and music.
